Recent updates, upgrades and patches
We've been working around the clock to continue growing and shaping DigiChef, and we're ecstatic to share with you some new features, a few quality of life upgrades, and some general bug fixes!
In addition to the items mentioned below, we're also currently beta-testing PDF invoice imports! We really want to continue to help make digesting purchasing information as fast, easy and consistent as possible and we can't wait to get that feature out into the world soon.
New: Alerts & Notifications
We've introduced a real-time, live notifications and alerts system with DigiChef! On the top-right navigation bar, you'll now see a bell icon with a number badge. This number indicates how many unread notifications you have!
Currently, these notifications are triggered each time we automatically import and process an invoice. The notification provides you with a snapshot of the invoice total and date. To view the invoice details, click on the notification link to expand it's information.
Looking forward, we have big plans for this feature. These will play an integral role as we incorporate the PDF invoice imports!
New: Ingredient Cost Performance
With DigiChef, you've always been able to see your recipe costs, whether that be combined costs, by individual recipe, or even by ingredient. Ensuring your access to high quality, detailed information about your menu is one of our core pillars.
With that in mind, we took things to a whole new level.
We're really happy to introduce ingredient cost and performance tracking! You can now click on the information button for any ingredient to view it's cost performance over the last 13 months!
Use this information to:
- View pricing trends that are negatively impacting the cost of the ingredient,
- Compare the current cost of the ingredient to the average
- Inspect how your current price stacks up against the same time period last year.
Updates
Your feedback really matters to us here at DigiChef HQ, and we use it to help shape the platform! With that in mind, here's a quick list of updates and enhancements we've made in this latest release:
- Added more detailed shipping information, such as the pack, size and uom when adding a product to an invoice and inventory counts.
- Does something look wrong with the information? We've made the product name a link to that product page. Click on it, make any changes necessary and use your browser's "back" button to pick up where you left off!
- Added tooltips to all of the ingredient buttons when interacting with a Recipe or Prep Recipe
- Products you mark as "archived" will now be highlighted on the invoice summary emails. Use this information to catch when a substitute or wrong product has been ordered!
- The Recipe and Prep Recipe names on the products page are now links to their respective pages
- Added more preparation styles and methods available for you to use when adding an ingredient!
Fixes
It's embarassing, but we're not afraid to admit when something isn't working correct! Here's a list of bugfixes that we squashed in this release:
- Fixed an issue that prevented you from entering a quantity of less than 1 when manually adding a product to an invoice
- Fixed an issue where deleting a prep recipe did not automatically recalculate the associated recipe or prep recipe costing
- Fixed an issue where deleting a line item, when the product was charged by weight, from an invoice did not update the total invoice value correctly
